Sorbus Joseph Rock

Ornamental Rowan Joseph Rock

An outstanding ornamental rowan, especially striking in autumn, Sorbus aucuparia Joseph Rock is a medium-sized, deciduous tree with an upright habit and a narrow crown, becoming more rounded as it matures. Creamy-white flowers appear in spring, followed by masses of creamy-yellow berries, which mature to amber and persist through the winter. The leaves are similar to those of the common rowan, but turn fiery orange, red and purple in autumn, a lovely contrast to the berries. A healthy tree, though susceptible to fireblight. Like all ornamental rowans, Joseph Rock grows more shapely in full sun.
