A compact, floriferous black-eyed Susan, Rudbeckia fulgida Little Goldstar is a herbaceous perennial with a clump-forming, bushy, upright habit, good for small gardens and probably the best rudbeckia for growing in containers. Pointed, toothed, rich green leaves form a dense clump. From June to September, and into October, masses of beautiful chrome yellow daisy flowers with dark brown cones at the centre are borne on sturdy stems above the foliage; the flowers are very attractive to pollinators. Black-eyed Susan Little Goldstar is easy to grow, as long as the soil is moisture-retentive.
