Rugosa Rose Schneekoppe
Highly fragrant and resilient, 'Schneekoppe' aka 'Snow Pavement' is a very reliable white flowering rugosa rose. In early Summer, it produces clusters of large, semi-double flowers that open with a delicate hint of lavender-pink before maturing to a brilliant, glistening white. These blooms possess a heady, intoxicating fragrance. This variety is prized for its tidy, mound-forming habit and its tough as nails constitution. The foliage is dense, leathery, and bright green, boasting exceptional natural resistance to blackspot and mildew. Like its siblings, 'Schneekoppe' produces a beautiful secondary display of large, fleshy red hips in the Autumn, which contrast sharply against the foliage as it turns shades of yellow and gold. Whether used as a low flowering hedge, a fragrant groundcover, or a sturdy coastal shrub, it provides a sophisticated, low-maintenance display that thrives even in challenging conditions.
