Rosa Zwerg (Admiration) - Rugosa Rose

Rugosa Rose Zwerg

The baby of the rugosa family, 'Zwerg', (also know as 'Admirartion') is a charming and incredibly compact shrub rose that proves you don't need a large garden to enjoy the fragrance and hardiness of a rugosa. In early Summer, it is covered in a profusion of semi-double, clear pink flowers with a lovely soft scent. Because it is a repeat-bloomer, it will continue to throw out flowers right through to the Autumn. Despite its smaller stature, it shares the tough constitution of its larger relatives. Its mid-green, wrinkled foliage is highly resistant to blackspot and mildew, staying fresh and healthy even in damp weather. It maintains a very neat, rounded shape, making it the perfect choice for the front of a sunny border, low-level groundcover, or as a long-term resident in a patio container. Like the rest of the series, it finishes the season with a display of small, ornamental red hips.
