A lovely, repeat-flowering rugosa rose, Rosa Agnes is a large, vigorous, deciduous shrub rose with an upright, bushy, suckering habit, and very prickly stems. The divided, leathery, deep green leaves have narrow leaflets that are very deeply veined. In summer and autumn, the shrub bears double, amber-yellow flowers that fade to cream, and have golden stamens and a light, lemon scent. Blooming in early summer, it will produce a smaller flush of flowers later. Rose Agnes is particularly good for an informal, flowering hedge near the sea.
