Raspberry Veten - Summer Fruiting

Raspberry Veten

A robust variety originating from Norway, Rubus idaeus ‘Veten’ is a high-yielding, summer-fruiting raspberry prized for its exceptional flavor and deep, ruby-red berries. This variety is particularly prolific, producing heavy crops of large, firm fruit that are as sweet as they are juicy—perfect for eating fresh off the cane or transforming into rich jams. Because it was bred for cooler Scandinavian climates, 'Veten' is notably vigorous and reliable, making it an excellent choice for northern gardeners or those seeking a particularly hardy specimen. Unlike autumn-fruiting types, 'Veten' bears its fruit on the previous year's wood (floricanes), so a simple pruning routine is required to keep it productive. Its upright habit and strong canes benefit from a post-and-wire support system to keep the heavy clusters of berries off the ground.
