Lungwort Blue Ensign

One of the most dependable and showy Spring flowering plants that provides important early nectar to bees. Pulmonaria Blue Ensign is a compact, clumping deciduous perennial with broad fuzzy dark green leaves. The blue bell-flowers open in clusters from early March until the end of May. Lungwort Blue Ensign is a shade-loving bushy low growing plant that looks well growing on slopes and banks and anywhere the early flowers can be seen, out of full sun. Cut back after flowering to maintain healthy leaf growth throughout the year. Pulmonaria Blue Ensign has received the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
