Ligustrum Japonicum - Japanese Privet

Japanese Privet

This evergreen privet makes a fast dense hedge, set apart from other privets by its thick glossy leaf. Ligustrum japonicum has an upright habit, clips extremely well and is ideal for someone wanting a quick screen. It flowers in late Summer to early Autumn and its berries are liked by birds. It is fully hardy and can take all but the most extreme coastal exposure, will grow in some shade and most soils except waterlogged. An all round great plant.

Please note: When young and transplanted, it can drop its leaves, but will hold them as it establishes.
