Iris hookeri

Beachhead Iris

A perky Iris with a compact upright dwarfing habit. In Spring, the sword shaped mid-green leaves pop out, closely followed by flowers which last until summer. The flower heads of Iris hookeri are a soft mid-blue with striking deep blue veins and a blotched white centre. Beachhead Iris is tolerant of salt spray so it is the perfect choice for coastal or seaside gardens. Its compact growth also make it a suitable choice for rock gardens and container planting. Hookeri is a well behaved low maintenance plant that prefers slightly acidic, moist soil. Would benefit from spring division every 3-5 years. It is both deer and rabbit resistant.
