Hydrangea Teller White
Hydrangea macrophylla 'Teller White' is an elegant, deciduous shrub highly valued for its striking, lacecap flower heads. From early to late Summer, it produces large, flattened clusters featuring a delicate central core of tiny fertile flowers surrounded by a prominent outer ring of large, pure white sterile florets. Unlike mophead varieties, this white lacecap maintains its clean, crisp colour regardless of soil acidity, though the tiny central buds can tint light blue or pink depending on your soil pH. The shrub grows with a naturally neat, rounded, and bushy habit, clothed in large, broadly ovate, deep green leaves with serrated margins. This dense foliage provides an excellent, dark backdrop that makes the luminous white blossoms stand out vividly in semi-shaded areas of the garden. 'Teller White' thrives in the damp, temperate climate of Ireland, putting on its best performance when given reliable moisture and shelter from harsh winds. It is a fantastic option for adding refined structure and reliable summer colour to borders, requiring minimal pruning beyond removing dead flower heads in the spring.
