Hydrangea Mariesii Perfecta (Blue wave)
One of the most popular lacecap hydrangeas, Hydrangea macrophylla Mariesii Perfecta is a medium-sized, deciduous shrub with a rounded upright habit. Glossy, light green, toothed, oval leaves cover the bush, usefully acting as a weed-suppressor. From midsummer, the intensely blue fertile florets at the centre of the lacecaps are surrounded by blue sterile florets (pink or mauve on less acid soils). Dead-head as needed (Lacecaps are generally hardier than mopheads). Also known as Hydrangea Blue Wave, Hydrangea Mariesii Perfecta is a reliable, easy, low-maintenance shrub.
