Hydrangea Ayesha
A compact mophead, Hydrangea macrophylla Ayesha is a medium-sized, spreading, deciduous shrub ideal for the smaller garden. Domed heads of small, lilac-pink flowers, looking rather like a lilac’s, are borne for weeks in summer; the flowers become pale blue on acid soil. The big, toothed, oval leaves are deep green, and do not colour in autumn. Good in partial shade in a border, and does well in pots. Thrives best if in shade at the hottest time of day.
