Halimium libanotis

Sun Rose

Bright yellow, saucer-shaped blossoms blanket this compact, sun-loving evergreen shrub in late spring and early summer. Closely related to the rock rose family, it is highly valued for its neat, silvery-green linear foliage that provides year-round structure and architectural interest. The cheerful flowers act as a wonderful early-summer nectar source, attracting bees and beneficial pollinators to the garden. With its naturally dense, bushy, and low-growing habit, it makes an exceptional choice for gravel gardens, rockeries, coastal sites, sunny slopes, or patio containers. Exceptionally drought-tolerant once established, it thrives in dry conditions and offers a brilliant splash of Mediterranean charm with minimal maintenance. This shrub is best suited to milder coastal areas, unless protection is provided in winter months, such as fleecing and planting against a south facing wall.
