Cranesbill Russell Pritchard
A hybrid cranesbill which makes good ground cover, Geranium x riversleaianum Russell Prichard is a low, herbaceous perennial with a trailing, mat-forming habit. The rounded, lobed, grey-green leaves are slightly aromatic. Rich magenta-pink flowers 3cm wide are borne in summer; they look brilliant against the grey-green foliage, and are good for pollinators. After flowering, cut back hard to the base, and you will be rewarded with fresh new growth and more flowers. It can suffer from powdery mildew in very dry soils, so keep watered. Cranesbill Russell Prichard holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
