Snake’s Head Fritillaria, a wonderful wildflower, native to the UK, pretty pendant flowers in shades of purple and white with a pronounced checked pattern appear at the top of slender stems. Give Fritillaria meleagris a reliably moist area and they will happily naturalise in the wildflower or woodland garden. The are also stunning when planted in a container where you can admire them up close.
