Chinese Fountain Bamboo Nymphenburg

A well-behaved bamboo which does not run at the root, Fargesia nitida Nymphenburg is a compact, clump-forming, evergreen bamboo with slender arching stems, giving a fountain-like, rather than upright appearance. Narrow leaves, up to 4”/10cm long, are green, flushed purple. Chinese fountain bamboo Nymphenburg looks particularly lovely next to a pool, but must be planted in well-drained soil.
