Enkianthus campanulatus

Redvein Enkianthus

Grown for its mass of creamy flowers and brilliant autumn colour, Enkianthus campanulatus is a large, quite slow-growing, deciduous shrub, with an upright habit. The leaves are small and elliptical, and mid-green, and turn brilliant shades of red, yellow and orange in autumn. Clusters of small, cream, bell-shaped flowers are borne from mid-spring to early summer; sometimes the flowers are reddish. This is an easy shrub, and ideal for a woodland planting or a shady border. Redvein enkianthus holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
