Smoke Bush Magical Torch

A striking deciduous shrub, Cotinus ‘Magical Torch’, also known as Cotinus coggygria 'Kolmagito' brings drama and colour to the garden from spring through autumn. Its vibrant, deep red-purple foliage emerges in spring and holds its rich colour throughout the summer, creating a striking backdrop to other plants. In midsummer, airy, plume-like, soft pink flower clusters appear, giving a soft “smoky” haze above the foliage that adds stunning texture and interest to the garden.

Hardy, low-maintenance, and tolerant of most well-drained soils, it thrives in full sun, where its foliage colour is at its peak. This cotinus flowers on one year old wood, pruning of older stems encourages healthy growth, abundant flowers and maintains its shape.
