Cornus alternifolia Argentea

Silver Pagoda Dogwood

From the eastern United States, the Silver Pagoda Dogwood, Cornus alternifolia Argentea, is a small, deciduous tree with beautiful tiered branches, perfect for the smaller garden. The leaves are oval, and green with white margins, giving a light, silvery appearance; reddish purple tints develop before leaf-fall. In spring, small, flat heads of bright white flowers appear, followed by slightly flattened black berries in autumn. Similar to but much narrower, more elegant and delicate-looking than Cornus contraversa variegata, the Wedding Cake Tree. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
