Blackcurrant Ben Sarek

Blackcurrant Ben Sarek

One of the late-flowering, cold-resistant Ben series developed in Scotland, early Blackcurrant Ben Sarek is a dwarf variety; at 3-4’ (1-1.2m) high it’s a good choice for small gardens. The berries are large, with an excellent flavour. The bush is a very heavy cropper; branches may need support from the weight of the fruit. As with all the Ben series, the fruits ripen simultaneously, allowing you to pick the entire bunch. Do not delay picking as the fruit tends to drop when ripe. Good frost and mildew resistance. Plant lower than the nursery soil-mark to encourage new growth from below soil level.
