Heart-leaf Bergenia
Bergenia cordifolia is a robust, evergreen perennial known for its bold, leathery, heart-shaped leaves and vibrant spring flowers. In early to mid-spring, clusters of bell-shaped pink to magenta flowers appear on stout, upright stems, rising above the rich green foliage. The leaves often turn deep red or bronze in autumn and winter, adding year-round interest.
Perfect for edging borders, groundcover, or underplanting shrubs, Bergenia thrives in a variety of conditions, from full sun to shade. It's extremely low-maintenance, tolerant of poor soils, and attractive to pollinators. A reliable garden staple for both structure and seasonal colour.
