Greater Masterwort Florence
A standout variety of the classic Masterwort, 'Florence' is prized for its exceptionally long flowering season and beautiful, luminous colour. From early Summer through to the first frosts, it produces delicate, pin-cushion flowers in a soft, glowing pink. Each bloom is surrounded by a collar of papery bracts that hold their colour even as the flowers dry, providing interest long after the peak of Summer. 'Florence' is particularly valued for its robust and vigorous habit. Its deeply-lobed, mid-green foliage forms a neat, attractive mound that works perfectly in the middle of a border. Thriving in the damp, dappled shade of a woodland garden or a cool cottage border, it is a quintessential "filler" plant that bridges the gap between bolder perennials. Bees and pollinators find the nectar-rich blooms irresistible, and the wiry, upright stems make 'Florence' an excellent choice for long-lasting, romantic cut flower arrangements.
