Giant Hyssop/Licorice Mint Blue Boa
A true standout in the world of Giant Hyssops, this perennial is celebrated for its exceptionally large, dense flower spikes. Included on the RHS Plants for Pollinators list, it produces a non-stop display of thick, "bottlebrush" blooms in a vibrant, deep violet-blue from mid-Summer through to Autumn. Unlike many other varieties, the flower spikes are remarkably sturdy and hold their intense colour for months. Commonly known as Liquorice Mint, the bright green foliage emits a delicious aniseed fragrance when brushed against and it's leaves and flowers are edible. 'Blue Boa' is a premier choice for wildlife-friendly gardens, acting as a high-octane fuel station for bees and butterflies. This drought-tolerant beauty thrives in well-drained soil and adds a sophisticated, vertical energy to any sunny planting scheme.
