While most evergreen trees in Ireland are conifers, there are some broadleaf trees that hold their leaves all year creating shelter and privacy in the depths of winter and providing a pleasing contrast to the bare branches of deciduous trees and shrubs.

Potted trees are available all year, but the best selection, and the best time to plant, is in late spring (April to May) and early autumn (September to October).
