The Darwin hybrid Tulipa Apeldoorn produces single flowers on tall, robust stems. Dazzling, deep cherry-red, goblet shaped blooms enclose a yellow-edged black heart. Fully hardy, Tulip Apeldoorn is a reliable, long-term perennial (up to 5 years) requiring full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Excellent as a cut flower, it enlivens borders and containers and is useful amongst shrubs. Flowers reach a height of 50 - 70 cms throughout April. Foliage should be allowed to die down naturally.
