Fragaria x ananassa 'Florence' was bred by the renowned East Malling Research Centre, it is a late-season variety that produces an abundance of firm, flavorful fruit from late June to July on disease-resistant plants, it has very good resistance to powdery mildew and other fungal leaf diseases. Pair it with early-season strawberries to extend the harvest period. To protect immature fruits from slugs, place straw underneath them.
