Salvia argentea

Silver Sage

Grown mainly for its beautiful silvery leaves, Salvia argentea is a biennial or short-lived perennial with a clump-forming habit. The broad, wrinkled leaves are covered with white down, giving a silvery effect, and form a rosette in the first year. In July and August of the second, and sometimes subsequent years, typical sage flowers, white flushed pink, rise on slender stems above the clump, and are loved by pollinators. Drought tolerant. Silver sage is a beautiful feature plant, and holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
