A tall upright fast growing tree with many uses, Violet Willow bears early spring catkins on purple-red stems sure to brighten any location. It is a popular basketry willow for its long lasting colour and highly valued by all sorts of wildlife. It can grow in smaller gardens if coppiced in March to provide consistent winter colour.
