Lebanon Striped Squill

A dwarf bulb which brightens the garden in spring, Puschkinia scilloides var. libanotica is a  bulbous perennial, forming a clump. The leaves are narrow and upright, and mid-green. The flowers are very pretty, star-shaped, pale blue with a darker blue line down the centre, several on each stem; the flowers appear in mid-spring. An easy plant, generally pest-free; it may be liable to a virus. No pruning needed, as the bulb dies down. Lebanon striped squill holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Plant lots!
