Austrian pine Oregon Green
A compact, slow-growing Austrian pine selection, this striking evergreen conifer brings a clean, distinct outline to any landscape. It is highly valued for its dense, glossy dark green needles that grow in tight, brush-like sleeves along the branches, creating a rich texture all year round. The plant displays a phenomenal seasonal highlight in Spring, when it produces prominent, erect new shoots. These vertical "candles" emerge in a bright, pearly-white shade, standing out in sharp, dramatic contrast against the mature, deep green foliage below before eventually opening into new needles. As it develops, the tree forms an open, broadly pyramidal shape with short, horizontal branching. This exceptionally tough and resilient conifer adapts seamlessly to challenging coastal or urban settings. It establishes a strong root system that handles poor conditions with ease, requiring almost no maintenance or pruning to keep its naturally tidy form.
