Pinus nigra Nana

Black Pine Nana

A dwarf conifer for the medium-sized garden, Pinus nigra Nana is an evergreen, slow-growing tree with a compact, flat, sprawling habit. The stiff, 5”/1.3cm needles are deep green, and very dense. The brown cones may fall, or remain on the bush for years. Good in a low-maintenance or a city or courtyard, or architectural garden. Black pine Nana is an easy tree that needs no pruning but can be susceptible to conifer aphid, pine sawfly, pine shoot moth and honey fungus. It can be propagated by grafting.
