Ophiopogon planiscapus Nigrescens - Black Mondo
Ophiopogon planiscapus Nigrescens is a low growing, evergreen grass like perennial with nearly jet-black leaves, it makes a most unique specimen for edging or in the rock garden. Short spikes of pinky-white flowers are followed by black berries in the fall. This is a slow plant to establish, so give it time. Does best in a sheltered, partially shaded position.
