Daffodil - Mixed Varieties

Daffodils are naturally suited to growing conditions in Ireland. These Irish grown, hardy, perennial bulbs, whose preferred habitat is deciduous woodland, flower in early Spring before leaves form on the trees. However, in most positions, Daffodils will naturalize and multiply with ease, requiring little attention for many years. They flower best when they get a minimum of 6 hours sunlight each day. After flowering the strappy Daffodil leaves provide nourishment for the bulb, so they contain a toxin to deter wildlife from eating them. Daffodil bulbs should be planted in Autumn while there is still some warmth in the soil. Clumps need dividing every 4 to 5 years.
