An impressive exotic looking acid green architectural evergreen from Madeira. Melanoselinum decipiens is a leafy bush with deeply divided bronze flushed leaves, followed by dense clusters of tiny flowers of pink and white in dome shaped heads from Summer onwards. The flowers are replaced by black seedheads in winter providing a valuable food source for birds. After going to seed Black Parsley will die. As with most other biennial and monocarpic perennials (plants that die after flowering) there will be plenty of seed spread around and new seedlings the following spring. Black Parsley is attractive to bees and other beneficial pollinators, working well in wildflower and meadow gardens.
