Ornamental Crab Apple Obelisk

Narrow, columnar growth and a profusion of fragrant blossom make Malus 'Obelisk' (often sold as Malus 'Maypole' or part of the Ballerina crabapple series) an outstanding choice for restricted spaces. Blooming in mid-to-late Spring, pink-budded flowers open to reveal delicate white or blush-pink petals that completely smother the upright branches. The floral display is followed in Autumn by abundant, shiny crimson crabapples that cling to the branches long after the leaves drop, and make a fantastic crabapple jelly.
