Sweet Gum Slender Silhouette

This is a very upright, slender tree for any garden, with brilliant autumn colour. Liquidambar styraciflua Slender Silhouette is a broadly conical or columnar deciduous tree. The leaves are dense, and maple-like, and turn from orange to bright purplish-red in autumn. The flowers are insignificant; these are followed by round, prickly, woody seed-capsules. Good in architectural or city and courtyard gardens or a low-maintenance garden, and beds and borders. Sweet Gum Slender Silhouette can be propagated by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer. An easy tree that needs minimal pruning and is pest- and disease-free.
