Hydrangea Early Sensation
A very compact paniculata hydrangea, discovered as a chance seedling in the Netherlands, Hydrangea paniculata Early Sensation is a small, bushy, deciduous shrub which starts flowering very early and continues for three months. The large, fluffy, conical flower-heads open clear white, ageing to reddish-pink. Flowers from Late May to August. The big, oval leaves are deep green, on deep burgundy stems. The small size makes it suitable for the smallest garden, or for pot culture. To enhance flowering, prune hard (at least half of previous year’s growth) in early spring.
