Hosta Wide Brim

Hosta Wide Brim

One of the best forms of variegated hosta or plantain lily, Hosta Wide Brim is a small to medium-sized, average- to fast-growing, deciduous perennial, with a mound-forming habit. The broad, heart-shaped, puckered leaves are blue-green with  broad, irregular creamy yellow edges and some streaks. Loose panicles of pretty, pale lavender, funnel-shaped flowers rise on 2’/60cm stems above the foliage in July. Mulch with garden compost or manure in spring and autumn, water in dry spells, and protect against slugs. Hosta Wide Brim holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
