Christmas Rose

One of the most popular Hellebores, Helleborus niger produces large white rose-flushed cup-shaped flowers from Christmas to Easter. A low growing evergreen with striking deeply-cut dark glossy foliage, just as significant and beautiful as its flowers. A great plant for its cheerful flowers that lift the spirit in the depths of Winter. Grow this in a sheltered shady spot, not too wet and not too dry- it will eventually self-seed and colonise. Helleborus niger benefits from a mulch of well rotted manure or compost in late autumn to protect and boost growth.
