Sun Rose Ben Mohr
An eye-catching and hardy evergreen dwarf shrub, this vibrant Sun/Rock Rose is highly prized for introducing a rich, glowing warmth to sunny garden spaces. Part of the legendary Scottish-bred "Ben" series, 'Ben Mohr' is a robust and energetic performer that forms a low, dense, spreading cushion of small, linear, deep-green foliage. The glossy dark leaves provide the perfect high-contrast backdrop, remaining neat and highly attractive through every season of the year. From late Spring through to mid-summer, the plant is absolutely smothered in a dense, blanket-like profusion of single, saucer-shaped blossoms. The flowers are a striking, rich coppery-orange, beautifully accented by a bright, sunny golden-yellow centre. These paper-thin blooms open wide to greet the morning sun, creating a lively haven for bees, butterflies, and other essential garden pollinators. This resilient Mediterranean-style native is beautifully adapted to challenging, dry spots and is highly drought-tolerant once established. Shearing the foliage back by about a third immediately after the main summer flowering maintains a tidy, compact habit and successfully encourages a welcome secondary flush of warm orange blossoms later in the season.
