Witch Hazel Rubin
Forming a sturdy, open, vase-shaped habit, this deciduous shrub bears a magnificent fiery colour and scent when little else is in bloom. From mid to late Winter, the bare branches become densely clad in clusters of spidery flowers featuring long, twisted petals in a striking shade of ruby-red to crimson-copper. The blooms carry a light, spicy-sweet fragrance that wafts through crisp winter air. In Spring, broad, hazel-like green leaves emerge, which undergo a second dramatic transformation in Autumn, turning brilliant shades of orange, yellow, and fiery red before dropping to reveal the winter buds.
