Gooseberry Invicta

Gooseberry Invicta

A very old, mid-season variety, culinary Gooseberry Invicta is widely grown for its exceptionally high yields. The berries are large, yellowish-green, with a good flavour when cooked or preserved. Can be eaten fresh when fully ripe, although the flavour as a dessert gooseberry is not first-rate. The bush is very vigorous and spreading, fast-growing, and extremely thorny. Particularly suitable for training. Reliable, very heavy cropper. Disease-resistant, particularly to American Gooseberry Mildew and leaf-spot. Grows well in shade, but the fruit will not be so sweet.
