Geranium Patricia

Cranesbill Patricia

Renowned for its incredible flowering power, this hybrid Cranesbill is a favorite among garden designers for its ability to bridge the gap between Spring and Summer blooms. It produces a spectacular and relentless display of large, saucer-shaped flowers in an intense shade of magenta-pink, each featuring a distinct dark chocolate-black eye at the center. The vibrant colour is exceptionally long-lasting, often continuing in waves from early Summer right through to the first frosts of Autumn. The foliage is equally impressive, forming a substantial mound of deeply divided, dark green leaves. Because it is a vigorous grower, it is perfect for filling large gaps in a border or for underplanting roses where it can scramble through the lower stems to create a lush, flowering base. As the temperatures drop in Autumn, the leaves often take on fiery red tints, extending the interest in the garden before the plant goes dormant for Winter. Geranium Patricia is a sterile hybrid, meaning it puts all its energy into producing flowers rather than seeds, which is why it remains in bloom for such an extended period. It is a robust and easy-to-grow perennial that thrives in most garden settings and is highly attractive to bees and other beneficial insects.
