Euonymus japonicus Marieke (syn. Aureovariegatus, Ovatus Aureus)

Japanese Spindle Kathy

A large, colourful, evergreen shrub, Euonymus japonicus Marieke is very popular because it provides year round interest and is well suited to all positions (including cold, windy, coastal, exposed) and virtually all soils. Foliage is bright golden-yellow when young, later yellow-green with a broad yellow margin. It provides the best variegation when grown in full sun but will also tolerate partial shade. It can also be used as a low hedge. Holds the RHS award of Garden Merit.
