Erigeron glaucus Sea Breeze

Beach Aster Sea Breeze

Also known as fleabane, Erigeron glaucus Sea Breeze is a low, mat-forming, herbaceous perennial with narrow, spoon-shaped, grey-green leaves up to 6”/15cm long. In summer, daisy-like pink flowers in shades from carmine to lilac pink, and with yellow centres, almost cover the plant. The flowers are attractive to butterflies and bees. Beach aster Sea Breeze is ideal for coastal and beach gardens, and also looks well in a gravel planting or container. An easy plant – simply cut back hard in autumn every second or third year to promote neatness and flowering. Not for the coldest areas.
