Barrenwort
Epimedium grandiflorum 'Red Beauty' is a graceful, shade-loving perennial known for its vibrant spring display and delicate foliage. In early spring, it produces eye-catching, spurred flowers in rich crimson-red with pale pink to white inner petals, held above a mound of elegant, heart-shaped leaves. New foliage emerges with copper-bronze tones, maturing to green and sometimes colouring again in autumn.
This compact and clump-forming variety is ideal for brightening dry, shady areas under trees or shrubs, and it works well as a groundcover or in woodland borders. 'Red Beauty' is drought-tolerant once established, deer-resistant, and adds fine texture and long-lasting interest to shady planting schemes.
