Crocus zonatus (syn. kotschyanus)

Crocus zonatus

An autumn flowering crocus, Crocus kotschyanus, also known as zonatus is a real beauty. Open, goblet-shaped, lilac - almost light pink - flowers with yellow throats and creamy-yellow stamen appear in the autumn, with the foliage arriving later in winter. A stunning sight when planted 'en masse' and in drifts where they will naturalise. A welcome blast of colour at a time when everything else is going to sleep for the winter.
