Cotoneaster Rothschildianus

Cotoneaster Rothschildianus

A good hybrid cotoneaster producing yellow berries in autumn, Cotoneaster Rothschildianus is a vigorous, medium-sized, deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub or shrubby tree with arching branches. The narrow, lance-shaped, deeply veined leaves are bright green. In May and June, dense heads of small, creamy-white, fragrant, flowers appear; these are followed by big clusters of creamy-yellow berries in autumn, which provide food for birds in winter. This cotoneaster can also be grown as an informal hedge or screen. Easy to grow, and drought-tolerant once established, cotoneaster Rothschildianus holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
