Smoke Bush Ruby Glow

A compact deciduous shrub, Cotinus ‘Ruby Glow’ is grown for its vibrant, ruby-red foliage that provides bold colour throughout the growing season. In summer, dramatic, plume-like, reddish pink flowers appear above the leaves, creating the characteristic soft, smoky effect that gives this plant its common name.

Ideal in mixed shrub plantings, or as a striking specimen, this smoke bush thrives in well-drained soil and full sun, where its foliage reaches its most intense colour. In autumn, the leaves develop warm tones of crimson, orange, and gold, adding spectacular seasonal interest. Hardy and low-maintenance, occasional pruning of older stems encourages healthy growth and maintains its compact, rounded form.
