Corydalis solida

Fumewort

Corydalis solida is a charming early-spring ephemeral, valued for its delicate, tubular flowers and finely divided, fern-like foliage. Blooming in shades of pink, purple, or lavender, the flowers rise above soft green foliage to form low, colourful clumps that brighten woodland gardens and shady borders.

This compact perennial naturalises beautifully, forming carpets of colour in early spring before going dormant by summer. It thrives in moist, humus-rich soil and is perfect for underplanting deciduous trees and shrubs. Low maintenance and pollinator-friendly, it’s an excellent choice for adding seasonal interest to shaded areas.
